Does it never occur to these guys that officers aren't always in marked cars? Or that they have days off, too, in their civilian vehicles?

Ha ! A cop friend of mine was once pulled over by an impostor. The story is hilarious, but these people who do this are not. It's creepy in the extreme.

Agreed, since there have been innocent people who were killed by people impersonating police officers and other authority figures.
