For those of you not around in 1981, SA Jerry Parr was the lead detail agent at the Washington Hilton Hotel on March 30, 1981 when John Hinckley, Jr fired on President Reagan. Parr shoved the President in the limo and ordered the driver to head to the White House. When Parr saw the blood on the President's handkerchief, he ordered the driver to divert to George Washington Hospital, saving Reagan's life.
He passed away today at the age of 85, just shy of his 56th wedding anniversary.

There's a photo at Wiki of the entourage just before Hinckley fired. You can see Hinckley in the crowd, which is rather chilling. Look in the crowd just to the right of Officer Delahantay.
