Anyone see it yet? I thought the movie was pretty good, but Johnny Depp was amazing. I think he does best when he's not in his weird Tim Burton roles (Gilbert Grape, Chocolat, Blow). He totally embodied the Whitey Bulger and was just so creepy and awesome. After that performance, I would love to see him on True Detective.

I finally got to go see it. I agree that Depp does a solid job with the dramatic acting. We haven't seen him like that in awhile. I do think he was a little one-note, but I enjoyed the film enough that I'd let it slide.

Although I enjoyed the film overall, I did think it was a little scattered--probably due to how much ground it was trying to cover. It would have made a better miniseries.
