Hello again! Veinglory brought up a subject I'd like to know more about (thanks for that!). In this genre, what number is considered "reasonable sales" for a novel--and for most genres, for that matter? And, what amount of sales constitute a "Best Seller?" I've heard that 10,000 is considered Best Seller. Am I correct? Thanks.

Most major publishers will do a first run in the range of 10k. I wouldn't called that a best seller--that is decided by appearing on one of the reputable 'best seller' listed (e.g. MY Times) and has not set figure IMHO but is *a lot*.

10k would probably be lower mid-list?

But I am not highly experienced with print publisher via major houses so no doubt someone else can firm that up for you.
