Hello, everyone!

Does anyone know "the skinny" on STARbooks Press and Haworth (both publish lots of gay erotica/romance), how they handle/deal with their authors?

On Wednesday, I email queried STAR on my manuscript. The senior editorial director immediately requested synopsis and chapter one, which I immediately sent over. He said that if he liked it, he'd shoot it over to the publisher. He said he would review the package over this weekend.

But, to my surpise, he emailed me back yesterday (thursday) that he wanted the entire manuscript. I immediately emailed it to him.

So guys, what do you think? Is this a very positive sign, or what?

Much appreciated.

Cowboy.

No sign could be more positive, as I see it. The next biggie is acceptance. Then comes contract terms and details, and the best advantages to you. If this comes to pass, airing your good fortune here would be a bonanza to the members. Especially for those of us (me) who have never submitted, much less negotiated or studied contracts. There are many members here who publish, and could lend advice on what sounds good and what sounds iffy.
