It's a Netflix crime drama about Pablo Escobar. In recent times, there has been a huge increase of quality TV dramas (stuff like The Shield, Breaking Bad, Game of Thrones, etc.). It's reached a point where there's too many shows to even keep up.
Having said that, what I find interesting about this show, and what sets it apart from the others, is the fact that it draws from a lot of true events. The way the show is intercut with actual news broadcast footage of major events is very cool. There's a few times I see a scene and I think "oh this is probably the show's creators taking artistic license because this seems far too crazy to be real." Then they follow it up with actual news footage and your mind is left reeling.
I'm definitely going to do some research into the events of that time period to find out how much of this show actually happened. This would happen after I'm done watching of course, I don't want to run into spoilers.
