Hybrid sites: free & for profit?

Hi everyone, I've been out of the loop for a while.

I'm hoping to find if there are any writing sites that allow you to post short stories, etc for free, with the option to sell?

Know what I mean?

I've never seen one, but that could be because I've never looked.

Smashwords has an option where you can set your price to "whatever the reader wants to pay", including free. That may be your best bet.

I've never seen a site like that.

Wattpad (or your own free blog) can handle the free part. But you'd need to use another site to sell, or maybe you could just include a paypal donation link.

Jukepop had an option for serializing novels, and people who enjoyed the stories could donate, but I think they may have changed their business practices. I haven't used them personally, and the last time I looked, it wasn't as appealing to me. I don't know if looking at a site like that might give you ideas for your search, though.
