I can't imagine you having a normal day anywhere, Zach.

So that's what you're doing instead of showing up at the HOL doing your towel boy job. You're fired, buddy!

Tru,

Is that the Dennys at the bottom of the 202 offramp at Rural/Scottsdale? The one attached to the hotel where the windshield replacement millionaire was killed/robbed by the stripper and her boyfriend a few years back? If so, that is the strangest location for a Denny's I've ever seen. And one of high intrigue...

And I have to wonder if this is the same Denny's where you met "Roly-Poly Lucifer" and the rest of the cast from a couple of your poems.
:)

I've never been in a denny's during daylight hours....

No! Ahahahah. But it's really near there. It's about 4-5 miles up the road. I go to it because it's the only one, with the exception of one other, that I can smoke at within a 20 mile radius.

That Denny's you're talking about is only a mile away from my apartment, though :)

And for your information, KTC -- I go here to indulge in terrible coffee, smoke a lot, and write poetry.

And meet Norm McDonald.

:)

(And no, I missed out on the hash browns. They are delicious, though.)

Denny's. Worked at one the whole time I was in college. My husband still works there. We both worked the night shift. Never a dull moment on thirds. The stoners, the drunks, and the weirdos. It ws quite entertaining.

Our Denny’s closed last year, went belly-up, I suppose. Guess I’ll never meet Norm MacDonald.

And he’s Canadian too.

Geez, I never meet anybody most people would recognize. Could it be because I mostly stay home? Maybe one day I'll meet Truman, who's met Norm. My Brush with Greatness!

Maryn, who met Noam Chomsky (not exactly a household name)

Hey! That's way cooler than Norm.

Don't get me wrong, I love my Normy -- but he was a bit drunk. Heheh.

He signed a napkin for me; told me never to smoke crack.

And I never get out all that much, either. The only exception are my nightly midnight trips to either Denny's or IHOP.

Allow me to point out, that you are a published poet now; you should have been signing his napkin too

Oh ya, and Norm's right; NEVER smoke crack

Hahahah. I could've written, "I'll be famous one day, I swear!"

Well, he's not on SNL anymore, he used to be.

I guess different strokes for different folks.

Norm was on SNL a long time ago, then he had a TV series (sitcom, I think). Now, I think he's back to doing stand-up in LA and through the Vegas circuit. I think I saw a billboard of his in Las Vegas a couple years back.

He also does voice-over work on cartoons. He did a voice for a series of Canadian commercials featuring a couple of CGI beavers during the Olympics. He was one of the beavers. They were funny, if a little over-shown.
