I'll try to post it again. What I should have noted was that these are only for those who don't have a plan.

Thanks William. Since I signed up to reserve my copy of Windows 10, I'm suspicious when things don't work right. Then again it could just be my internet ignorance. Yes PoetrySoup has these recommendations.

not sure i understand. is the contest going to be determined by reader votes, or by single judge/panel of judges?

Thanks, William. Steppe, have you decided how the contest is going to be structured yet?

I tend to judge things according to no rationale I could so easily list, but it's a good list of check points and might make me think more about why I am responding to a poem the way I do.

Rules and other info will be posted shortly ( next few days ). Contest will be judged by those members who have submitted a poem.

Thanks, Steppe.

If you need any help with guidelines, rules, setting up judging, etc just let me know.
It's your contest, but I'm happy be be a background resource for you if you need something.

You can even have entries sent to me to manage and post for peer judging if that's how you decide to go. Whatever helps. (sometimes mod buttons come in handy for these things).

Also, it might be nice to open judging to the whole board. I think votebot could help?

VOTE_BOT is always happy to help.

Well, not happy, as VOTE_BOT cannot process emotion. But still...

Stew - Thank you most kindly! Poetinhat is helping me setup guidelines and rules. I hadn't thought of opening the voting to the whole board. You may be right though. Poet has said that he will tally the votes. I am putting up the prizes.

In the Castle, of course.
Steppe, when I held a poetry contest I had the voting open to all AW members in good standing. The caveat was that if you entered a poem in the contest, you absolutely had to vote or your entry would be disqualified. It seemed to work well.

There once was a bot name of VOTE
who knew the history of poetry by rote.
Hated Haskins with passion,
so wrote in the fashion
of Swinburne a threatening note.
