Usually I've seen them in P&CE, but seems reasonable to put it here -- he was a writer.

Helter Skelter was a fascinating book.

His analysis of the Kennedy Assasination (all one million plus words of it) never got the attention it deserved.

Helter Skelter also did a lot to define the true crime genre, at least in the minds of most people.

RIP sir.

Bob, thanks for posting this. I had not known until I read of his passing today that Helter Skelter was authored by the man who prosecuted the case against Manson. (Obviously I've not read it.) Quite a life work.

He may have been a better writer than a prosecutor, and from what I know, he was a darned good prosecutor. He'll be missed, but good, long life always makes a difference.
