Guys, what is your experience on going through tires on your car when you live on/drive often on gravel roads?

I have to replace my tires after a year and a half of moving onto this gravel road. I've driven a lot (I mean, for me - @20,000 miles) in this last year and a half, but I'm shocked at the tire wear. The mountains are kind of hard on tires anyway, but yikes.

perhaps if you didn't drive like a maniac your tires would last longer!
ever think of that?

We moved out here just over a year ago, and we hit about a mile of gravel road per day (half mile leaving, half coming back). Your whole vehicle will get some wear from it. Best thing you can do really, is to just drive it slow. It may be tough on the cars, but it's sure worth it being out in the country!
