...took place about an hour ago. It's the first time Oxford and Cambridge women have raced on the same day and the same water as the men.

And do you know how this historic day came about? The CEO of the sponsors is a woman.

Tells you a lot about progress and privilege, eh?

I watched it. Very emotional. By, those women can row!

They can! Two Olympians in the Oxford boat.

I know!

Cambridge really need to get their act together. It was hard to watch.

Thank you for posting that story (and the background)! It's amazing what enough time, (and a female CEO willing to hold the men's hands to the fire) can accomplish.

Same day and same water, eh? I wonder how the men's teams are feeling over the direct comparison.

I haven't found any news on that but I know on other social media there is the usual manbitching about the girlies taking away their toys from the usual suspects.

The Cambridge women have started a fundraising campaign called Project Ely to get a decent training centre. Their faciilities are awful. Far worse than Oxford's.
