Vale Richie Benaud (http://www.abc.net.au/news/2015-04-10/richie-benaud-dead/6009202).

Cricket icon Richie Benaud, who distinguished himself first as a leg-spinning all-rounder, then as a daring Australian Test captain and later as the 'voice of cricket' in the commentary box, has died at the age of 84.

Such sad news :(
I don't quite remember him playing but I loved listening to him. Such a gentleman, with a gorgeous dry wit. The marvellous voice of cricket.

Oh that's a shame.

I used to love listening to him during the Ashes.

RIP Richie.

My gran hated him. Every time she heard his voice, she knew it meant Days of Our Lives wasn't gonna be on.

Cricket's not the same without him though.

He was my favourite commentator in any sport, and more summer-y than a 99 flake and a sudden shower.

I remember with great fondness the halcyon summers of my youth, listening to Richie Benaud, Johnners, Aggers, Blowers, et al. My friends and I used to take a radio with us to test matches just to listen to their commentary even though we were there.

He had a good innings and will be remembered with great fondness. RIP.
