I'm not really a Hoarder, but...

I do have about a dozen bottles of Texas Pete stashed in the back of my pantry.

And you?

I think when you're hoarding food, it's called Prepping.

I have 12 boxes of stationary.

I still have my comic collection from when I was a kid, and I refuse to give them up.

Only twelve boxes? *sigh*

Um, let's see... every copy of Dungeon magazine and Dragon magazine I've ever bought.

over 1060 books... (This is actually down. Don't faint.)

Enough college rule filler paper to take up one full shelf of a five shelf bookcase...

Did I mention I have hoarders for parents and grandparents?

Ahhh, so that makes it perfectly logical then, right? :D

You're prepared, Lavern.

Does it mean more if you know I don't write letters?

Genetic hoarding is tough. I get it from my mother. But you've been making lots of progress!

I have two bottles of Tabasco in the room I'm in right now! Right by the salt and peppers on each side-table-o'condiments by the computers, naturally ;)

I preserve any food item label "do not sell after 1999" or earlier. Those labels are so misleading.

Right now, since I haven't had the energy to clean we have a lot of recycling piled in our basement waiting to be taken to the recycling center. Oh and bags of clothes to donate. I've at least managed to get them from the house to the garage. I am usually pretty good about purging but I just don't have the energy right now.

AW. A very nice place!
Dented coins. If I happen upon any I set 'em aside. Got some really fine specimens, so banged up you can hardly make out what they are.

I have de-cluttered my home after a dozen years here. I thought I kept up on it pretty well so was very surprised at the loads and loads and loads of stuff that went out of here. Now cleaning is much faster and I feel unburdened and more free to start other projects if that makes sense. Also, I got a bunch of home improvements done that probably would have just been too much effort before. I'd consider my parents one extreme hoarder and one compulsive-ish cleaner. They did not get along, lol. That may have contributed to my housecleaning strangeness, come to think of it. Like I must do everything or nothing.

I hoard one-hundred dollar bills. If any of you are de-cluttering, you can send them to me. :D

7 cats.
One was born in my closet 15 years ago.
One I needed to comfort myself over the loss of a previous cat.
One was just so heartbreaking as he cried at the vet's findling station until he was placed into my arms.
One was too beautiful not to take.
One was brought to me for foster care and grew on me.
One I fished out of the gutter and nobody wanted him.
One was barely a week old and already abandoned 4 times.

Yeah well.

Oh, also, random stuff. I don't throw things away. I know I'm smothered. You can see the floor and the place is presentable and all, but I'm hating it. Boxes everywhere.

I just gave two pick-up trucks full of novels--both paperbacks and hard covers--to the Friends of the Library's used bookstore...and I still have 5 whole walls full of books.

Is that hoarding?

I hoard double-edge safety razor blades. In a fit of anti-consumerism, I refused to pay $30 for a set of four multiblade razor blades, so I bought an old timey safety razor for $10. But then I needed blades and figured they wouldn't be available forever so I went on a buying spree. I have enough blades to last 30 years. I am well prepped :)

Ha! I did this too, and on the second trip they told me they didn't want to see me again.

Wait...the two of you seem to be suggesting...that books can LEAVE a house?

That's just silly.

Oh, and I still have most of my old Warhammer 40k miniatures. I'm unsure what to do with them... Part of me wants to paint the unpainted ones, because I remember that being something of a zen pastime, but another part of me wants to just sell the whole lot to whoever will take them, and be done with it.

So while I figure out what it is I actually want to do with them, they're sitting in boxes in part of my built-in wardrobe.
