What common items do you seem to frequently misplace?

I frequently misplace my hairbrush, and sometimes my keys and glasses.

Keys
Glasses (reading and sun).

Shoes

Important papers

Anything that has a date on it: which explains why I frequently show up a week early or a date late.

My check-book.

Cell phone. (I need two, one to call myself with).

Writing utensils.

LOTS of things. I am queen of dis-organized.

I ALWAYS lose movies and CDs. And often my iPod.

eldragon - I'd be terrified if I lost my checkbook. Well, rather nervous.

writerterri - Your poor kids.

I misplaced my roommate once. Found her again when I was sober.

And thank you so much. Now I'm going to have that D*** Veggie Tales song in my head for the rest of the night! :scared:

Shoes. At our wedding, my husband sang me a song he wrote, and one of the lines was, "I'll always find you your shoes."

(He does, too. He has a great visual memory.)

Other things I lose: keys, books (I forget where I've shelved them), bills/mail, the cordless phone (hooray for beeping tracking thingees), the cell phone, people's addresses and phone numbers, scrunchies (I wear them to bed every night), scissors and tape...

Misplaced my life once... haven't found it yet either. If y'all see it laying around anywhere, let me know and I'll send it a cab to bring it home...

Have you checked with the lost and found at Walmart? Best place to start looking for a good deal.

Hmmm.... good point. Wonder if they have my sanity too? Lost that ages ago!
Sorry, but Walmart has a no return policy on lost sanity. Might try the Salvation Army, I hear they have a basket of sanity that is given out each Sunday.

Oh I would so avoid looking for it at Wal Mart. The good deal would probably come with employment there and from what I've heard, it's not that great a place to work.

This is a good suggestion. I once tried to give a couch with a tiny rip on the underside of one of the cushions to the SA, and they refused it, so you know you'll be getting top-notch sanity.

On the other hand, before you commit to anything, I'd ask why the original owner gave it away.

Sometimes it's best not knowing where you next living arrangements comes from or why.

I have to second Jenna's "scissors and tape." How could I forget those?
Okay, I missed that one. Did we change the thread to something more "romantic"?

Yea, right. They can't wait until I'm not looking or on the phone. Missplacing them would be a dream for them.

I very seldom misplace anything...I'm only disorganized to the casual observer. There is a method to my madness...I hope. Though I do have a hard time keeping track of the cordless phone but I blame that on my husband and I really don't mind because I very seldom answer the phone anyway.

Completely sideways, man
My keys are the things I lost most often. I've even found them in the freezer! It's not that hard to do, really. Come home from the grocery store and start putting away groceries before you set your keys down and you never know where you might find them.

I also lose my purse, my shoes, bills, my umbrella (no idea where it is right now, and of course it is storming) and Jenna - I salute another scissors and tape loser. At Christmas time, I'll get up from the floor after an hour or two of wrapping presents and there will be 2-3 pairs of scissors and several rolls of tape buried beneath all the stuff. I lose the ones I am working with and go get more. Then they don't resurface until I am putting it all away.
