Hi All! I'm new to posting in this forum, so please forgive me if I'm asking a question that's been answered elsewhere.

Do people in this community do critiques for each other? I'm looking for someone to trade full novel critiques with. Mine is Southern Women's Fiction. It's all first person, and written in character voice, so I'd prefer to trade with someone who has experience with that genre. Thanks!

We have an entire forum just for Beta Readers, Mentors and Writing Buddies (http://www.absolutewrite.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=30). However, please do read the following sticky threads before you post a thread, because critiquing (otherwise known as beta-reading) is both a skill and a gift to the author that deserves acknowledgment:

Please Read Before Posting (http://www.absolutewrite.com/forums/showthread.php?t=14331)
What is a beta reader? (http://www.absolutewrite.com/forums/showthread.php?t=69137)
What if you beta experience didn't go as planned? (http://www.absolutewrite.com/forums/showthread.php?t=147623)

I shall port you over there now, MLW. Along with the wonderful threads Cathy mentioned, I suggest that when you request, you pitch the book a little. Nothing so drastic as a query, just to give people an idea what your book is about.
