have a 57k New Adult/Chick Lit/Romance that I've queried around to mixed results (some liked it, but didn't think it was strong enough for this market, and several said that it needed conflict earlier in the work and I need to make the protagonist a little more likable at the beginning, too).
Basically, I need suggestions for how and where to do those things (especially ideas for earlier conflict before the first hero-heroine conflict midway through the book). I would be happy to do a swap!
