My mother’s name was Lavonne. Occasionally, friends and family called her Laverne. Laverne and Shirley was one of her favorite shows and thanks to cable, I’m pretty sure I watched every episode—with my mother, thankfully. Every time I see a post by Lavern08, it reminds me of how those same friends and family members used to tell her she needed to iron on an ‘L’ to her shirts. So, though Lavern08 doesn’t know this (until now), her avatar makes me smile at those memories of my mother.

I'm still thinking . . .
