I'm in the early stages of something, but I don't want to get used to a particular name if it won't work.
Is Fan Wei / Wei Fan, a believable contemporary name for a teenage girl? I think it's fairly unisex, but I could definitely be mistaken.
She's an American teenager with a several-generation American-Chinese family. I considered giving her an Americanized given name and keeping Wei for the family name, but I like the sound of "Fan" and want to keep it. (A group of other teens calls her "Fangirl" as a taunt.)
