About Semiotics.

Oh, but this is so cute (http://the-toast.net/2014/10/14/talk-babies-semiotics/)

ETA: Ok, not so much cute as nerdy and linguistic. With added baby.

I wish I knew more about semiotics. (And I've read Foucault's Pendulum an' all.)

Your link led me to this: Baby's touch 'n' feel guide to Russian literature (http://www.mcsweeneys.net/articles/babys-touch-n-feel-guide-to-russian-literature) from McSweeney's.

This semiotics stuff is far too erudite for me but I read Foucault's Pendulum, too. Truly hypnotic!

I was going to go with arcane rather than erudite, but yes, fantastic novel - the sort of thing I wish I could write!
