literary theory/structuralism specialist?

Hi, I actually am an expert on structuralist literary theory, but I'm looking for someone else who also is. I need some feedback on my tentative outline of the literary theory essay/book I want to write.

??? What are you talking about?

But I'll explain what a structuralist literary theorist is. It's someone who believes all fiction, from myths to novels to the stories in video games, has an underlying universal structure. Or perhaps you have heard the related tearm 'narratology', which means a scientific study of narrative? Some improtant people in the history of structuralism were Claus Levi-Strauss, Vladamir Propp, and Noam Chomsky.

Now that I agree with, literary theorists in general have a terrible tendency to be long-winded. I wrote down everything I know about the structure of fiction and it only came to 10k words, and some people manage to say only half as much in 5 times as many words.

Sunandshadow, do you get The Writer's Chronicle, published by the Association of Writers and Writing Programs? You might find what you need there in one of the conferences or seminars listed. Also, your own essay might be a good fit to be published there; there is usual one article along those lines. For example, in the March/April 2006 issue there's an article entitled Structural Strategies for the Multi-Plot Novel.

Oo, no I don't but I bet Carnegie Mellon's library does. I saw a stack of journals when I was there, but I skipped them because I barely had enough time to look at all the books. But I'll definitely check it out - your example particularly catches my attention because I write multiplot fiction.
