I couldn't find a thread on that shooting, so please merge if there was one.

Mehdi Nemmouche from Roubaix was arrested back at the end of May:

[French] authorities said he had a Kalashnikov and a pistol in his possession, identical to the weapons used in the museum attack on 24 May in which two Israeli tourists, a French volunteer and a Belgian museum employee were shot dead. The suspect also had in his bag a GoPro camera and a large quantity of ammunition. All the items in his possession have been sent to Lyon for analysis.
Nemmouche was known to French counter-terrorism police, who had placed him under surveillance after his return from Syria last year, where he was suspected of having joined Islamist fighters. Previously, he was reported to have travelled to the UK, Belgium, Lebanon and Turkey after serving a five-year jail sentence in Roubaix, about 60 miles (100km) from Brussels. Some media reports put the suspect's age at 32, others at 29.

Now a French journalist who was held with Foley and Sotloff says that the museum shooter was his torturer:

"Brussels Jewish Museum shooting suspect was ISIS torturer"

A French journalist held hostage for months by extremists in Syria says one of his captors was a Frenchman suspected of killing four people at the Brussels Jewish Museum earlier this year.

French magazine Le Point on Saturday quoted its reporter Nicolas Henin as saying he was tortured by Mehdi Nemmouche, a Frenchman who had spent time with extremists in Syria.
Henin was held for a time with American journalists James Foley and Steven Sotloff, both beheaded by extremists from the Islamic State group in recent weeks. He was released in April with other French journalists who had been held since June 2013.

It's a more Anglo mainstream story within the past hour, though:

jewish control of the media seems to be expanding before our eyes.

Hee hee. But if it starts with the French, it's probably a safe bet that it's not an evil Zionist *twirls mustache* plot, eh? ;)

I knew, more or less, about the Guardian, but was unfamiliar with the others.

Holy cats, what a story.

I don't recall the exact political slant of all of them without looking closer, so I'd not necessarily choose each for a completely objective story about Gaza-Israel or US actions or anything. That is important to note!

A Le Monde article on the shooting that I'd never seen says that Nemmouche was carrying the flag of ISIS, so there's been a connection all along (article from early June)! I had no idea.

Dans les bagages du suspect, les policiers ont aussi trouvé une vidéo d'une quarantaine de secondes, comportant le drapeau de l'Etat islamique en Irak et au Levant, un groupuscule djihadiste actif en Syrie.

I did wonder how he felt about one of the four he killed at the museum being Muslim, but if he's QSIS, then that explains that. They certainly don't mind killing Muslims :(
