The Summary Game

This is sort of a companion thread to a our Title Game thread. Someone suggests a random title and then someone else has to use it as a prompt for the summary to a story.

Example:

Night-Tide

Jesse first saw the tomb when her parents moved them to a boring little coastal New England town. Drawn to it one night while exploring her new home, the 17 year old wakes something that has been sleeping their for nearly a century, a vampire. When strange things begin happening, it is up to her and the eternally 17 year old Rhianon to to get to the bottom of things and save the quiet little town.

I hope that makes things clear, I will start us off. If you're inclinced to give someone more of a challenge then feel free to add a sub-genre like this, Night-Tide(Dark Fantasy/Horror).

Every year at the solstice, one man and one woman are chosen to die, and do so willingly. Their sacrifice satisfies the god that has looked over the land for millennia. It keeps outsiders from invading, keeps the crops in good health, keeps trade abundant, and most importantly, it gives the god the power to make the people peaceful for another year.

As the woman looks into the very unpeaceful faces of the people expecting her sacrifice, she sees more life in them than she's ever dared to admit could exist. She was happy to die for them until this very moment. And she decides that she and the man who was chosen along with her will live, at least a little longer, to see what happens if the people of their land can feel their true feelings, and not only those allowed by the god.

Of course, they will die soon, she promises herself, her people, her god. Just not now.
