So I went today for a sonogram and sure a darn nuff there were two little penisis (or is it peni?) Anyway. You couldn't miss them popped up there like that. I was sorta hoping for a mixed bag, but two stinky little boys it is. Now I have to worry about them tearing up my house and breaking things like each other's arms. Our daughter is such a gem, boy are things going to change around here!!!!

Cheer up -- maybe they'll be gay!
um, what i meant was, then they'd be all neat and tidy and non-violent and clean-cut and charming and witty...

When you figure it out, will you let me know?
:D

The one thing I get told repeatedly when my son does something outrageously boyish is, "It could be worse, you could have had twins."

You'll enjoy every minute (after recovering from all the heart attacks that is.)

LOL. Congrats. At least your not like my aunt's friend who conceived triplets naturally, 21 yrs after her last one was born. Boys will be fun. At least they can beat up on each other and spare your daughter. ;)

I always told my husband that we would have a girl first and then twin boys. We have the girl, in a couple years we'll see about the twin boys.

Seriously -- congratulations on two healthy twins!

I've never felt right about hoping one way or another about gender, because I didn't want our children feeling like they were the 'wrong one'. Before our first child was born, I figured I knew a little better how to relate to a boy (we decided not to find out in advance). When we had a girl, it turned out we got on like a house on fire. She's wonderfully girly, and all sorts of rambunctious fun at the same time.

When our second child was born, we found out the gender ahead of time, and - yes - boy! Oddly enough, I realised that I might not be so confident anymore about relating to a boy. Five months later, I've found that I do. I'm thrilled with both of them. They're very different, but they're thick as thieves.

The punchline, for those of you skipping the middle bit: I bet they'll be wonderful. And congratulations again!

This is a terrible thing to say to a mother, but it's the first thing that popped in my head and I just have to say it: you should raise them to be hot, then star in pornography.

Becaue that would be hot.

(I'm sorry!)

Congrats, sc!

Just to give ya a little chuckle since you were talking about penises--

When my oldest son was born, the nurse pulled me aside and said, "Your son has a really big penis." Hmm..

Well, he doesn't get it from me.

You never know, sc. I had a boy first, and he was never any trouble at all until his sister grew up and taught him how to get into trouble.

(Just hope she doesn't see this... :D)

Just be aware when you're changing diapers that boys have a natural weapon of sorts. Wear goggles.

Thanks for all the er...kind words. It'll be fine. A friend of mine has 18 month old twin boys and they fight and punch each other if she tries to hold them at the same time saying MY mommy. NO MY mommy.....hoo boy. It'll be fun, but I'm definitly DONE!

Congrats.

Twins can be hell on wheels, especially boys.

If you don't believe me, ask my twin brother, he'll tell you all about it.

Oddly enough, my brother's name is Zach. . . and no, we don't do porn (well, at least he doesn't)

we don't look or act alike, different as can be.

This is neither here nor there, but I always hear from mothers of girls that I'm lucky we have boys.

I also hear that boys are hard to raise when they're little and great when they're older and girls are vice versa.

Lastly, boys are individuals. Just being a boy doesn't make one an automatic terror. Our first son is great, laid back, no problems. That's why we went for two. Our second son is the complete opposite and had we had him first, he'd have been an only child.

Anyway, congrats! :)

Congrats. I wouldn't be too worried about them being rambunctious just yet. I've known little boys who were just as calm as some little girls. And little girls who are as rambunctious as the boys. :)

My sister's having twin girls any day.

congrats on healthy babies!
I have two boys and couldn't imagine it any different. (though there are 2 years between them.) Yes they are rowdy and loud and feisty but so fun (and just think you won't have to deal with that stage where girls get all weird and emotion...you know, between the ages of 11 and 40!?!
Seriously, it sounds like you will have your hands ful...and they will be delightful!

Congrats to you! When I had my 20-week twinkie ultrasound, we could tell right away that Baby A was a boy. Not only could you see his penis, but he had his hand on the damn thing.

Baby B had her hand up to her ear -- swear to the gods -- like she was talking on a phone.

My husband and my 4 year old daughter do that. The thing is is that they're serious. My husband has to sneek in his kisses. My 6 year old announces, "Gross! They're at it again." And my other daughter comes in fuming mad wanting in on the action.

But 2 boys! Eww. Cooties times two.

I have one boy and he's all boy in front of his friends then when he's at home and his sisters are in bed he seeks me out for some love. He likes his neck kissed and his ears nibbled on. Has since he was a baby. I guess there's some things he'll never grow out of. Well, I do have a cut off line.

congrats!
