Dumb question... But I don't want to blow it.

I have an agent asking me for my Proposal (memoir) and asked me to include "sample texts". I already sent two chapters (from the middle) What are sample texts? I do not see anything in my how to books that talk about it?

Not a dumb question at all. Just one I've never heard asked. By the agent, I mean.

Normally, your chapter samples would be what is requested.

This is strictly an "Ask Your Agent" question. The agent is the only one who knows. The rest of us would just be guessing.

Sat Nam! (Literally "Truth Name"--a Sikh greeting)

It means sample chapters. Usually chapter 1, a chapter from the middle, maybe a chapter from the end.

Thank you guys... I am taking your leads and sending three chapters. beginning, middle and end.

I almost think the Query Hell should be re-named Query Hell ON FIRE... and Book Proposals should be Book Proposal Hell.

At least I am staring to get positive responses now...

What questions do you ask?

When you query, do you look for Agents who have film right experience? Does that matter?

Do you just choose based on their passion for your novel?

What is important?

I recommend starting a new thread with those questions -- they'll get lost in here.

That's a question to ask in Ask the Agent.
