I don't know if this is the right place to put this, but I thought that folks might want to know...
There's a bit of a storm brewing over at kboards.com and goodreads about someone who appears to be passing off other people's books as his own on Amazon and smashwords.

You may need to be patient - this website crashed yesterday, possibly because of the number of people reading it.
The allegation is that this person - Karl Jones - appears to be copying other people's books and just changing a few details - titles, covers and character names. There's some other nastier stuff too but that is a matter for the courts so I'll let you read that for yourself.
Authors may want to check his 40+ (some say 80+) books to see if he has copied their work.
The other worrying aspect of this saga is that at least one of his books "Murder in the first" has a five star review from someone who specialises in giving only glowing five star reviews - sometimes up to three in one day. That's either a very fast reader or something fishy is going on.
Leaves a very bad taste in the mouth...
