As a PhD Film Studies student I have not had many chances to actually get paid for my writing (scholarly and peer-reviewed journals are more about sharing your research than earning a living), so this is a huge milestone for me. I really wanted to share it with all of you at AW as this forum has been a huge help in answering my newbie questions and giving me the confidence to get myself out there.
My article about John S. Robertson's 1920 silent film adaptation of The Strange Case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde has just been published by Rue Morgue Magazine!
As if that wasn't thrilling enough, I have just had another article proposal green lit by HistoriCool, an Australian history magazine for children.
I'm just starting out in publishing so I am very proud and encouraged by these results. Hoping these are good omens for my recently completed scif-fi/fantasy novel and new short story!
