View Full Version : Final Draft Completion

So I've been working on my first series, The Kemdi Legacy, for nearly 10 years. It's an Alternate Earth type of fantasy were evolution has produced all kinds of different creatures. A girl named Basha is trying to learn about the world, her family and herself after years of isolation by her father.

In all that time I've gone through roughly seven drafts of the first book, and only one draft of the second amidst tons of worldbuilding, made-up languages and deciding whether or not the story was worth it. I've decided that it was worth it to me, because I wanted to tell the stories of my characters.

And so I'm at the final stretch I feel. You know the point where you feel you've told the story in the way you wanted, and now it's a matter of tweaking and fact-checking before the final edits? That's where I am. I've been using this as a guide for the process: http://www.how-to-write-a-novel.net/support-files/novelediting.pdf Hopefully it can help someone else on here.

My goal is to have my book thoroughly revised and edited by the end of 2014, and to have it published by June of 2015.
