My dear friends....
I've been sitting on this news all week, and it has been one of the most difficult secrets I've ever had to keep. I can't believe this day has come. As you are all painfully aware by now, our Jenna has decided to step back from the day-to-day running of the forums. That task has now fallen on – er, to me. Actually, I was asked quite nicely, the brass knuckles were only brandished, not used.
It's hard to believe how much has changed since I first stumbled across the Absolute Write Water Cooler a few years back while looking for a spot where I might learn a thing or two about this writing game. I never expected to find a home like this, and yet here I am, hobnobbing with some of the best people I've ever had the pleasure to meet, online or otherwise.
I don't have to tell you how much Jenna means to this place. In fact, the Water Cooler always will be hers. I think of myself as a steward, just here to look after it for her with the help of the best gang of moderators on the Internet, bar none. I'm also going to do my level best to be every bit as approachable as Jenna. Just please be careful when swimming across the moat, arrowqueen sometimes forgets to feed Nessie.
We've always had Jenna's one rule. It has stood us in good stead over the years, and I see no reason to change it in any way. However, I would like to add a few new ones (with a tip of the hat to Monty Python).
And so, without further preamble, the reading of the rules:
Well, that's it then. I know each and every one of you will do your part to continue to make the Absolute Write Water Cooler the best writer's site on this or any other planet.
Carry on – or if I might be so bold as to pay tribute to one of the most amazing people I have ever had the honour of calling my friend – write on!
Charlie

- Rule number one: RESPECT YOUR FELLOW WRITERS!
- Rule number two: There will be no mistreating the newbies ... if there's anybody watching.
- Rule number three: RESPECT YOUR FELLOW WRITERS!
- Rule number four: I don't want to catch anybody ... not writing.
- Rule number five: RESPECT YOUR FELLOW WRITERS!
- Rule number six: No Spammers or Trolls!
- Rule number seven: RESPECT YOUR FELLOW WRITERS!
Well, that's it then. I know each and every one of you will do your part to continue to make the Absolute Write Water Cooler the best writer's site on this or any other planet.
