I've been searching for a great site for books that's similar to Metacritics, Rottentomatoes, IMDB, etc, but there doesn't seem to be any. The closest we have are sites like publisher's weekly, goodreads, amazon, or news/media portals' book sections. But none of them are quite as easy to use and comprehensive as the movie, TV or video game news/review sites.
Ideally, the site would have latest news for upcoming or newly released books, interviews with authors, professional reviews, reader reviews, articles about the publishing industry and the medium of books, rankings, searches by genre, year, author, awards, publishers, etc, videos of author/agent/editor/publisher round table discussions, podcasts, and so on.
Does such a site exist? What's the closest we have? Or what combination of sites can cover all these?
It's a little sad that we have an abundance of sites like I described for movies, TV shows, video games, but not for books. It seems that way with music too. Perhaps the number of books and music being released is far greater than the other popular mediums, so it's too hard to create comprehensive news/reviews/feature content sites for them?
