Does anyone have any information about the German-Italo Armistice Commission in Morocco prior to Operation Torch?
Thank you.

Can you be a bit more specific? That's a very general question that I suspect whole books have been written on.

Perhaps our users can recommend resources for you to use for research.

When Petain signed the Armistice with Germany, there were stipulations and a Commissino was created to monitor that the French and other conquered people complied with these stipulations. About 250 were supposedly sent to French Morocco which was Vichy controlled, ostensibly because of the natural resources that could be found there.Initially, Hitler was interested in French Morocco but did not pursue it. I only find rare mention of these soldiers in Morocco but I know the population noticed the presence of their presence. I wanted to know more about how long they were
there and how they interacted with the population.Thank you for your response.
