View Full Version : Finally... "The End!"

I've finally finished writing the epilogue of my first novel today; and while I know it's just a first draft (of many) and there's going to be some editing going on to make it better, my labor of love is finally over for the moment! It feels so cathartic to finally write "the end"!

Near fifty thousand words later and a gentle prodding into the right direction, and I feel very happy and excited about this. Time to rest up for the rest of the evening and work again tomorrow! :)

CGs! That's a very big step forward in your writer's education.

You probably already know the standard advice: Take a few weeks off between drafts to gain a little distance from the MS. Take the advice if you find that jumping back to work the next day (unless on another piece) causes you trouble.

Otherwise, onward!

Being able to write "the end" is so incredibly satisfying.

Sat Nam! (literally "Truth Name"--a Sikh greeting)

Good work and best of luck with the edits!

Thanks everyone! I'm going to saddle on up and revise... but I'll take the advice, maybe start on a new story instead! (:
