I'm at work right now and decided to take a little break and do some brainstorming on my WIP and some light research. Googled to find a Latin translation for the word "dream" and found a pretty neat site. A great little site, that is until I happened to look up and to the right! :scared:

There on my screen was a very explicit porn GIF....hammering away endlessly. :e2faint:

What on earth?????? I closed the browser immediately but I'm so freaked out now and hoping it doesn't get flagged or something and I lose my job over trying to translate "dream" into Latin!!

LOL No I closed it so fast I didn't think to remember what the site was. I could probably find it again but I'd have to do it on my phone because I'm not risking anyone seeing that on my screen as they pass by! Ahhh!

I'm just flabbergasted what porn has to do with latin translations. ??? Don't the ads on sites usually have something to do with what the site is about?

I don't really expect to get in trouble but I know I'm going to be so paranoid now.

Nah, there's porn on sites that have nothing to do with sex. It's usually a free website and the server's owner decides what ads will bring the most revenue.

It's pretty funny to me today and you all made me giggle so I guess that's the silver lining. :tongue

A couple of my cousins have been using their Chickasaw names as their screennames on social media. I really want to google and find out what one the names means but I'm guessing I should wait and search "Heshe" when I'm NOT at work.

ETA: On second thought I think I'll just text my grandmother and ask her since she's the one that named them in the first place! LOL

One of my students was writing a persuasive paper on corporal punishment. He asked me if he could use my desk computer to do a quick resource search. I was working with another student and okayed the request. He typed in spanking. Wow! And of course the whole class crowded around the screen before I got the show stopped. Quite an education for sophomores. I went to the principal and explained what happened and we documented the incident, just in case. --s6

One of the originals happened (as in happened in the 90's) when an elementary teacher had her young eager class gather around her at the computer to do a little modern research using the internet... and she entered whitehouse.com, rather than the intended whitehouse.gov (which I cannot even try now as I too am at work!) for a civics lesson and up came a porn site with women all in chains and leather, etc.

I imagine them all suddenly very quite as the kids tried to make sense of what the heck they were seeing, and the teacher probably froze for a moment, too! I do wonder what she said to them.
