Thrilled to appear in the top market on my list!

THE MADONNA OF THE ABATTOIR is a dark fantasy set in Victorian Arkham, in which a painter discovers that art is indeed long and life only too short, if one picks the wrong model.

Awesome! I love Tor.com. Great rates and they pay royalties besides if they post it up for separate sale. :)

Oh, and I'm loving the artwork by Sam Wolfe Connelly! Creeps me out every time I look, in a good way, of course.

Do you think if I haven't heard from Tor.com on a submission in, oh, almost three months( got it in on July 30th), they just *might* be considering it? Seemed that the rejection on short stories were sent sooner than later. But I'm probably just being hopeful. :)

Looks like they're at around a 90 day turnaround right now, based on the Submission Grinder (http://thegrinder.diabolicalplots.com/Market.aspx?mid=44). Click on "View recent responses from this market" next to Market Response Data to see specific individual responses. Good luck. :)

Got Tor.com's response today, Oct. 28. "Not quite right for them." just under the three-month mark. Thanks for the submission grinder link. I hadn't heard of it before.

Thanks, Karen Lee!
