So this year my goal is to finish a novel by the end of the year. Where "finish" means "written, edited, re-edited, ... and ready for submission".

Step 1: a first draft. I started end of January, aiming for 90K words, and as of today I am at 52.5K. Given an expectedly word-light March as I had two short stories due then, I reckon I am about on target.

Posting here to keep myself accountable. I've been doing OK so far by myself but am experimenting to see if a more public commitment helps keep things motoring as I plough through the Tough Middle Bit :)

Good luck with the rest of the draft and the mean middles!

Good luck with it!
I am in a similar situation as yourself, 55k words in, 90k(ish) target and want to have it completed in the first half of the year, which gives me the back half of the year to edit.

57K words now. Mostly from 5-600 word days (about what I can manage during the kid's nap), and one 2K day. Definitely slower going now than it was when I was banging through the beginning parts!
