What if you could count the things you've written about as your own real life events? If your character's experiences became your own? What sort of things would you have done?

According to mine I've:

-Burned down numerous buildings
-Had an affair with my married boss
-Had a relationship with a guy 30 years my senior
-Outran a gang of man-hunters
-Jumped 80 ft into water

Hope yours are as interesting as mine. :)

It can span multiple stories and characters, whatever you want.

A specific character or including multiple characters/stories? For the current story:

-Had a man come back from the future to warn me of trouble
-Talked to a ghost

If I draw across multiple stories then I would have also:

-Lived in the future
-Been rejected by my family for helping a stranger in trouble
-Had a son and then saved him from my satanic mother-in-law
-Chopped a person into pieces and stuffed them in a trash can
-Had a drinking problem
-Been eaten by a zombie

I don't want my characters' lives.

I've gone back in time; got put in jail; fell in love with Benjamin Franklin's niece; searched for another time traveler bent on changing history; fought with the Continental Army; killed an evil scientist.

And, yes, this is all in one story.

I'll just throw out my favorite. I would have tried to eat the sun, and basically succeed at it

In one book I would have flown with gargoyles.

The other I don't want to think about, my MC lives during the Holocaust.

Died. A lot. In various ways. Natural death, stabbed in the back, strangled, burnt, smoke inhalation, soul forced out of body, exploded by magic...

Maybe I should stop killing so many characters.

...Nah.

what a fun thread!
I would have: been the cause of my mom's death *knocks on wood, crosses self*; broken my dad's only rule; nearly died from drowning twice and smoke inhalation once; failed at a love mission or two; been an amazing sketch artist; found artifact to break a curse; B&E. Nothing too crazy, I suppose ://

Hmm. Let's see. Some of my favorite characters. Some of which are not exactly "good guys".

-been tricked into climbing down a well to fight a demon
-been possessed by a bloodthirsty wood spirit that thrives on destruction
-tried to kill my best friend out of a twisted sense of honor and duty
-led a revolt against a slave trader
-spent a millennia periodically kidnapping infant girls to be brides for a dragon prince
-prowl the night alleys of a steampunk Victorian city, for fun and games, and people to eat

(The two that sound the worst are actually the protagonists of their stories. Go figure. :tongue)

I don't think I would like that very much... I wouldn't be alive... over, and over, and over, and over.
