Apologies if this is elsewhere. Did a search and didn't unearth anything:

A secondary school maths teacher has used the power of Game of Thrones plot spoilers to control noise levels in his class.

When faced with a noisy auditorium, the teacher threatened to write the names of all the characters who die in Game of Thrones series three on the board.

This man is clearly some kind of evil genius. :evil

I'm impressed by the ingenuity, but feel pretty bad on behalf of any kids who were already sitting quietly.

The loud kids probably don't even watch and think it is hilarious to ruin everyone's day... Meanies!

I guess my question is how hold are secondary school kids? Here that starts when they're 10 or so. And the first season of GoT is pretty much porn.

I mean, I love both GoT and this teacher's cleverness, but yikes!

From the article:

When some students did not take the threat seriously, he began to write the names of those killed on the board, to the dismay of around 20 students who apparently sighed in disgust.

The class was then silent for the rest of the lesson, according to the pupil who first wrote about the anecdote on French forum

They're a bit more relaxed about that kind of stuff in France.
