Kevin, if you've ever mentioned an event in Toronto ("Heading for the Raptors game" or "Going to hear Leonard Cohen Saturday"), or named your city or its suburb, they're probably following you based on that alone. That IDs you as somebody who's in or near Toronto. And if you ever mention moving or life changes which are behind other people's moves, they'll attack.

I don't know about Twitter, but my Facebook feed has been littered with ads that seem targeted by conversations I'm having with my friends, which I find creepy and annoying.
