View Full Version : The Meme Game

No clue IF or how long this will catch, but I thought this might be fun.

How many times do you read a meme and think "Oh, crap. That's my life/day", either by its wording or by the answer it provides?

Well, let's share those, shall we? We can begin with a doozy that just caused an evil giggle or..several.

My answer:

"Yet somehow she felt calmer than she ever had in Harrenhall." Oh, yes, that cracked me up!

So, your turn. Reply or share. What say you?

*Note* Keep it mod-light so it stays fun, and remember to follow the image sharing guidelines (IF you decide to share an image). That's it. Go!

I tried that, and this is what page 45 says to me:

"On this page I will include just the moveable barre shapes for the min7, dom7 and sus2 chords."

Yeah. Apparently a "How to play guitar" book isn't very accurate for my love life. :tongue

Goof ball, that's why I walked AWAY from my window ledge (and thus, Elements of Style) and over to my book shelf.

"Oh, don't, don't!" said Philip. "You'll break my arm."

Ok, I know that's technically two sentences, but I wanted Philip to finish his thought.

And that's supposed to describe my love life? *Loooong sigh*

02-05-2014, 02:43 PM
"And for a moment, I feel paralyzed, frozen in dread." Pg 45 of DISCONNECTED. I know it's my own book (not sure if I can do that) but it was the closest one to me. This describes my love life and everything else in my life too. haha.

Lisa, your own book counts if it was near you. It's a silly meme, no major life rules apply. Shame I didn't grab the book I'm reading now, though. If I had:

A couple of years after we moved into the new house, something very frightening happened. (The Art of Racing - Garth Stein)

Yep. Hub and his daughter reconnected and my world slowly fell apart. OK, I'm not sure I like this meme anymore.

02-05-2014, 05:43 PM
I only had it by me cuz it's my last read thru. And I'm done, YAY me!

Next book by me, pg 45 "Join Professional Organizations" Book Markets for Children's Writers 2014.

sounds a little kinky if ya ask me...

Ouch... that's not very promising if we're still talking about love lives! I think I need a life preserver!

Omg, this is hilarious. Mine says:

Like a stopper valve, some things seemed to allow passage in only one direction. From Dust, by Hugh Howey.

This is supposed to describe your love life, right? It's making me laugh because we just did an ICI procedure to make a baby (where ya pop in the sperm), so I sure hope "some things" allow passage in one direction. Chortle.

I should have said that hilariously, that was from Nancy Kress's Characters, Emotion & Viewpoint, which I'm reading to improve some of my character development.

*picks up orchestration textbook as nonfiction seems to be more entertaining for this*

"It is essential to have some fluency with multiple stops played by the entire string orchestra in order to write idiomatically for strings."

So, are you saying I don't listen or I don't understand? Maybe that's why I don't have a love life.

"And then he went at that beard hammer and nails."

I originally read the post as page 44 which was much more... um... something. Cute until I considered the next line and I'm going to break the rules and show you.

I checked three different books and each one got better. The third described my love life to a tee..which is why I didn't post it. (Well, plus the fact that I already posted the others). Right then.

while searching for a book i forgot that it was page 45 , not 40, but i still gotta share this epic consequence that i've read there:
"if such fellows exist... i will track them down... no matter who they are" -it' s a comic book and the face of a speaking person doesn't mean anything good.

45th page gave even better:
"dealing with the dead is even worse than dealing with the devil!"

ahem, thank you, love life. crystal clear.
