And I really like it, even if my head is cold and I can't stop touching the bristly bit. I haven't been this interested in my own appearance for a while. It's always a good sign about me, emotionally, when I stard doing weird things with my hair and makeup again.

Now, when I dye it: Bright red, or vivid purple?

When it was waist length, I once had it dyed so that the lowest layers were deep purple, the rest was dark red and then I had flashes of pillarbox red throughout.

I loved it, but it cost about £75 a time and took a hairdresser three hours.

Sometimes I debate blue or green. I've always been red or purple (once black;never again, makes me look jaundiced) before and maybe I should branch out.

Yeah, I'm kind of a little in love with Natalie Dormer and after a year of dithering I decided to do it based on that picture.
(I have discovered it looks really cool in a low ponytail on the unshaved side)

do it. Seriously.

Get the shaved bit on the oppsite side to your natural parting so that you can style your hair to cover it if you hate it, and remember that it's hair. It grows back.

I'm tempted, believe me. I did Locks of Love a few years back (10 inches.) My hair was never that short. But I loved it. I dyed it red then too. But my kids and hubby hated it so I grew it out again and went back to my natural boring color.

I'm jealous.
