Dave Kuzminski has passed away. He was a long-time member here, and a tireless writer-advocate both here and as the curator of Preditors & Editors, which apparently has a new address.

He'll be sorely missed.

This is unbelievable. I can't grasp this yet. Dave was a good friend and a tireless advocate of writers. He fought PA for years right down to the bone.

I had not heard about him passing, this is really sad news. P&E is such an incredible tool for writers, it's hard to imagine the world not having his site around.

I had the pleasure of introducing Dave at a session of the Virginia Writers Club Symposium about two weeks before he died. He seemed weak and tired then, and mentioned that he'd had a few recent fainting spells. But he still gave a good presentation. Many people in attendance thanked him for the good work he'd done, and I think he appreciated hearing their remarks.

The site will still be around, Elinor, just with a new hand on the rudder -- from the front page of Preditors & Editors:

Jan. 2014: It is with great sadness that I have to report the untimely passing of Dave Kuzminski, the founder of Preditors & Editors. The site has been dormant for some time as a result. In order to prevent the loss of P&E as well, his family has transfered the site to me, Andrew Burt (founder of the Critters Writers' Workshop, I worked with Dave since the 90s as votemaster of the P&E Annual Readers' Poll, etc.). I will endeavor to make Dave proud.

It will take some time for me to get up to speed, and I'll surely need your all's guidance, so please bear with me, and feel free to ask questions.

Didn't Dave write almost exclusively for Double Dragon Publishing? I'm fairly certain he did and had a huge number of titles with them. Many of those book were very innovative in concept and plot. I can't find a list of them. Not yet, anyway.
