I know that I've mentioned (ad nauseam, probably) that I started a "write every day" regimen back in August of this year.

Well, I just officially hit 100,000 words! In pretty much exactly 5 months. Which, for me, is nothing short of amazing.

Now I just need to refine that practice into more focused writing, and make sure all those words add up to a completed draft, instead of 10 or so unfinished ones!

Congrats that awesome!

Damn, I thought you just got an offer of 100K for something you wrote.

But congrats on reaching 100K words.

Good for you, Zach! Now edits?

That's awesome! Congrats!

I don't know about you, but I feel like all writing helps improve my craft, even the freewriting I do that doesn't even contribute to any of my story ideas.

Hi Zach! That's not short of amazing, that is amazing. Congrats on it. It inspires me to make a word count goal for next year :D

Well done! Congrats on hitting a milestone goal.

Thank you all!

Sorry about the misleading in re the money. If I had $100k, I'd be boarding a plane to Paris as we speak :D

And no editing, yet. My active draft just crossed 20,000 words, so I still have to finish that! Still, every back-draft and failed attempt helped in some way -- with characterization, or helping nail down the plot. So I'm chalking it all up to a win.

Every word is most definitely a win, even if it's spread out over drafts. Congrats Zach, and here's to many more words in 2014! <3

Congrats Zach!! That's awesome. Aren't you in school at the same time?!

Also I love your avatar.

Thank you all!! :)

And I'm not in school yet -- I start on the 21st. But I'm pretty optimistic that having a full day will help my writing, and not hinder it. Lately, I've haven't sat down to write until about 8 PM, and I'm still getting out as many words. Which is awesome!

And thank you :D I do love my grumpy cat.

That's been my dream too!

Congratulations on the great output! A lot can be learned by quantitative writing, as long as you know the difference between rough and polished. Mine it for gems. :)
