Not a writing accomplishment, but...

I just wanted to share that I got accepted into medical school! (Mods please delete if this is not cool)

I've been working my butt off for years for this and it's finally happening. I was rejected for two years in a row before being accepted to my in-state school this year. Words can't express how great this feels.

How it relates to writing...I feel like if I could climb this hurdle, I can do anything. I've shown myself that I can persevere even in the face of overwhelming self-doubt, frustration and exhaustion. I can finish my novel. I also have a fire lit under my butt now, because school starts in August and I won't have much time to write then. It's crunch time, baby.

Quite the contrary, that means it's crunch time! School doesn't start til next fall, so I have just under nine months to finish this thing I've been pussy-footing around with for years. Don't think you can be rid of me just yet!
