Things I Hate About December...

I HATE the COLD and GREY weather! Argh!

I'm with you on the Christmas music "sung" by animals. Yuck. Stupid. But I do love Christmas music!!! There really is more to love about December than to hate. For me anyway.

The dark nights are the worst part for me. I'm supposed to be learning to drive but my supervising driver is usually too tired or busy in the evenings to take me out driving.

Aww, I think Dominic the Donkey is kinda cute.

Reasons I Hate December: Hey, who turned off the heat?

Christmas and its overload of greed and cries to "buy" and the pressure to do too much! News stories or witnessing people overspending, parents fighting over the hottest toys, people fighting over a big sale or hot item make me cringe. I hate December because of it.

Now, I must say New Year's Eve is my favorite annual event!

I hate how selfish people suddenly become, I swear one woman was trying to break my ankle with a buggy earlier. I also hate that its off-season for my job (roll on March.)

I do love hot chocolate with a shot of brandy, home-made soups and snow though. Of course its a few more weeks, and I can apply for jobs that I want, and not what the Job Centre says I should go for.

It's cold.
It's dark.

What I hate about December is not being able to plan with so many people maybe being away on travel, only to find out that everyone is there for that day and could we meet in, like, fifteen minutes? I know you live an hour away, but this might be the last time we can get everyone together before the new year.

Dorky icky Christmas "music" has to be the top of my list also. Unfortunately, although I have avoided being exposed to it much over the years, it turns out that my bil has special Christmas CDs he likes, some of which, well, um, I guess it could be worse. At least it's not the blinkin' Chipmunks.

I absolutely hate how short the days are. Most days I leave the house while it's dark and get home after it's gone dark again!

Christmas does help to make up for these things though! December is basically a whole month focusing on presents and food. That makes up for the short days for sure!!

This year seems to be worse than most in regards to the darkness. For whatever reason, my body just hasn't adjusted to coming off of DST yet. It still feels like it's 11:30 PM when it's only 6:30, and my body's all wacky. I hate it!

And tomorrow, our high in Carson City is going to be like 30*F. Well, acclimate me to the new climate, why don'tcha

Things I detest about December:
- The greed (as someone else mentioned) and need to keep up with everyone else
- The cold
- The negative attitudes - Not completely related to the greed
- Family DRAMAH! (Yeah,well this is every month now...)
- The lack of sunlight
- The accumulation of THINGS. (I've got too many already! Just give me a nice gift card to a restaurant.)

These are just a few of my most hated things.

Things I hate about December:

It's cold
It's Dark
Rude people Christmas shopping.
Screaming kids with parents who are Christmas shopping (not just at Christmas)
Christmas Music I hate:

Grandma got run over by a reindeer (ugh)
Yes, I hate the barking dogs too!
That song...with the man begging his baby to come home to the double wide trailer he's bought. (Cant think of the name of it)

Australian flies, most of all. This is a direct result of it being summer. And having to walk most places (even to walk to the bus stop) means flies are a constant annoyance in my summer.

Oh, and Christmas music, yes. Do not like that.

Working in retail.

Honestly, I'm so sick and tired of Christmas music already, and I've only worked 2 days in it. Not that I'm a big fan of the holiday, for that matter. It just brings out the worst in everyone.

The main thing I hate about December is the expectations pressed upon me. Shopping. Giving. Happy. Merry. And all with a deadline. Just hate it all.

The only good thing is that deadline--once that'd passed, it's over for another year.

It's cold.

I hate the way the temperature in Bangkok plummets to 27 degrees Celsius and I only get three weeks off this year for Christmas and New Year - life sucks!

Yeah I don't like the cold that much so december is not my favorite mouth.

I have so much going on this weekend in celebration of Christmas. I hate all the hustle and bustle sometimes. I have a luncheon Saturday and a Christmas concert to attend Sunday where I've been asked to be MC. Now I hear the ice is coming so I may get to sit out the concert because here in ol' Richmond, VA we shut down at the sight of one snowflake so I know ice will cause the city to go into hybernation.

Am I being mean hoping that the thing gets cancelled so that I can stay home? *snicker*

We're at -2c all today It sucks

(Though some of our comrades in the Weather grumbles thread are in -29c. O_O)

The obsessive consumerism, starting with Black Friday, and now it's half of Thanksgiving day too.

Tasteless Christmas decorations. Some people have really good ones. Others make me cringe. Animatronic reindeer, anyone?
