So National Book Tokens are running a competition at the moment to win a year's supply of books by guessing the titles from the picture. I would assume this is UK only, but the game is fun anyway!

I got 12/20 straight away, and now I'm pondering the remaining 8.

(Sorry if someone has already posted this somewhere - feel free to delete it if they have. I did do a search and nothing showed up, but that doesn't mean much sometimes!)

I managed to get them all, though some caused a good deal of head scratching!

Wow, I was horrible at this! I got, um, erm.....ONE. Yep, one measly answer correct.

Let me guess, one is the bottle?!

I have all but the bottle, the donkey and the ticket.

I suspect the ticket is obvious, and I'm just not getting it. The donkey is proving difficult because whilst brainstorming the phrase 'red hot ass' somehow lodged itself in my mind, and is now repeating like a song in my head.

The donkey is say what you see! The colour isn't relevant. The ticket is the one you think it is ;)

My friend figured out the donkey first thing, and I felt soooo stupid for not getting it. I'd had a "I should know this one" feeling from it. Turns out it was right.

So far I've got 7/20 on the first one, and 9/20 on the second. This is harder than I thought! I expect some clues I'll never get just because of not being familiar with the title. The donkey continues to elude me.

ETA: For at least one of the clues, it helps to think of British, rather than American, terms.

You should have heard of the donkey one! There's nothing more to it than saying what you see - donkey...and what's written on it ;)

Finally caught up with that donkey. Now I'm 10/20 on both puzzles.

ETA: 11/20 on one. A tip: don't try to be too clever in looking for symbolism. And you've got to be exact -- don't leave off "The" or "A" in the title.
