Can't wait! And the time difference froM (Bangkok) to Aus. is a lot easier than the U.K.

I think it's going to be close.

The only bits I will get to see will be an hour's highlights the day after so ... still I shall enjoy Test Match Special on the radio for maybe half an hour each night till I fall asleep.

I also think it is going to be close.
England's major batsman did not really perform in the series in England. IF they get it together this series they will be too strong for the Aussies, big if though.

Good first day for us but I'm not getting excited until we've batted.

But the lesson the Aus media should learn from this first day is don't wind up Stuart Broad! :D

For all the Brits - Radio 5 Live Extra are replaying each night's commentary the next morning at 11am. Listening to Broad trying to take Watson's head off at the moment.

Nice one Broad for "showing not telling" the Aussies to f##k off!

Here's hoping we can bat.

I'm going to pretend this day didn't happen.

At least I'm not working with any Aussies these days.

I'm hoping all the nasty stuff and verbals will die down. It's not right and not why I watch sport. Threatening to break someone's bones is ridiculous.

I agree. And I hate it myself. But Anderson himself isn't worried about the sledging. He knows full well that they give as good as they get - Anderson's no shrinking violet himself, if I understand correctly.

I prefer the humour approach myself. The boys need a Merv Hughes seminar in comedy insults.

Now then.

Aus have declared at 9/570. And with Johnson bowling Cook, it's now England at 1/10 in reply.

Thank you for your [several years'] patience, Australians... normal service has now resumed. :D

I know this is inappropriate as an aussie but I am very fond of Joe Root's happy smiles. I think we should adopt him.
