Not a DANG thing...

Nothing

Nada

Zip

Zero

For starters, my Birthday is next Friday, and I celebrate all month. :partyguy:

Second, I get lots of gifts and goodies (some monetary and some edible) for my Birthday :snoopy:

Third, It finally starts to cool down in my neck o' the woods, and it won't be long before the stores and radio stations start playing Christmas Music - Yes, I lurve me some Christmas Carols. :tongue

Fourth, Thanksgiving is just a few weeks away (Yummo!)

Finally,

People tend to "nicen" up (It's my thread and I can make up words, right?) during the holidays, and that's always a good thing, yanno. :e2arms:

The darkness. The cold.
The threat of snow and hated holidays.
The Seasonal Affective Disorder kicking in.
The depression.

and I hate not being able to blame it all on Verny.
What with everything going to heck so shortly after her birthday...

The coming cold.
Knowing the leaves are gonna drop off soon, meaning there'll be nothing between me looking out my window and seeing construction and ugly buildings instead of the pretty field that used to be there.

Less light in the evenings. Rain. The ever-present threat of snow.

That and loads of birthdays to try to remember.

The whole damned month drags on like the lyrics of The Wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald. God was probably listening to Gordon Lightfoot when he invented November! Sorry Laverne, but even you have to admit that it would be a bitch to go to the bottom of Lake Superior without your supper! Oh yeah--and November also gave me that baby brother that I do not ever remember asking for! --s6

Yeah--and I just stepped outside into a perfect autumn afternoon--Cottonwood trees dripping golden leaves against an azure sky. Maybe old November isn't so bad after all. Mind if I call you the witch of November? Just don't send me to the bottom of Lake Superior without my supper--s6

November is just a 'nother state of mind.

*this combination of my own associations, thought strings, and coincidences, will never happen again, so enjoy...*

For starters, my Birthday is next Friday

This is my reason for hating the month. :) Cause my day is the same natal anniversary.

The darkness. The cold.
The threat of snow and hated holidays.
The Seasonal Affective Disorder kicking in.
The depression.

Yeah, this.
Plus the strange shifting weather we're having these days - 70s today and 50s tomorrow...

Days of the Dead in Mexico--sugar skulls and dead bread. My classroom is decorated with dancing skeletons and marigolds--flowers of the dead. Kind of creepy but a cheerier approach to death than my gloom and doom German ancestors. Many cultures believe that a door between the worlds opens briefly between October and November. Mwhhaaaa!--s6

Fireworks! (This is a UK thing, though.)

My birthday's at the end of the month.

Walking about like the Michelin Man because I've got so many layers on.

I do miss the daylight, though.

The time change is the only thing I've got that's negative about November. :)

I don't mind the time change in the fall as much as I do in the spring. I like November. Thanksgiving is my favorite holiday. I even like the weather. It can get pretty windy here. I like wind, as long as it's not causing things like houses to fall on top of me.

Nothin'! I love November. It snows, the promise of a fantastic winter in the mountains, the ATVs are nearly gone, there's Thanksgiving. I even like the time change! Woo hoo! November: when there's nothing to not like.

Hmm. What I don't like about November is essentially the opposite of all of yours: It's starting to get bloody hot, there's a tonne of bugs coming up around Spring, etc.

Worst of all, though, is that this year (and last year, and next year too, probably) I have too much homework in November to do NaNoWriMo! Oh noes!

However, the good part about November is that about 2/3 the way through it is when my Uni year ends. So that marks the start of a 3-month break from classes and homework, and I can make progress on other things for a change. :)

For four years, I worked stocking shelves in grocery stores. Listening to butchered carols on the in-store loop became a torment I would wish on nobody.

November is the build up to the wet season, so it's hot and humid and rain is promised but not always delivered.

It's also the start of cyclone season, so it's time to sort out my cyclone kit.

The crowds around and after Thanksgiving. I have to remind myself to go shopping at obscure hours like 9:00 at night. Or not shop at all. Otherwise I love it because the weather is cool and I have lots of sweater jackets and I get to wear them all. ^_^

Reason to like November. My older son was born on the 23rd. It just so happened to be the Japanese Labor Day. (Go figure)

Reason to hate November. Everything else. Gets colder. Leaves fall, signaling the advent of winter with cold, colds, flu, work to get all the other outstanding work in and over and done with. Leads into December and it's the Christmas season which I do not celebrate yet am constantly reminded of in carols, ads, television shows, and Bing Crosby who should have been burnt at the stake a la Joan of Arc.

/rant over

:D

Good thing, my older son was born in this month.

Happy B-Day in advance, Lavern.
