Desktop pub for cover?

Can you use something like PagePlus to create a Kindle cover? I've been using this freeware for years for posters and camera-ready art for newspapers, etc.

I've come up with a couple of covers that really pop, but can I use them when I submit to Kindle?

Don't laugh, but I have been using MS Publisher to make my eBook covers. I set the page size to the recommended dimensions for Kindle, and then I save it in the highest resolution.

I have also used Book Cover Pro, which makes it easy to produce the print version cover. It works for me, so far so good. :Shrug:

You can use any program you want, as long as the dimensions are correct and it is saved in high resolution.

Thanks a bunch.
The Kindle web site does specify jpeg, which Page Plus is not.

Will it still work?

My version of pageplus allows you to export as jpg. You have to select "all". Make sure your size is the right one for Kindle covers.
