How are you defining "smart"?

I'm not a big fan of the multiple intelligences idea, but I do think there are a lot of different ways to define even just the original kind of intelligence.

I'm smart enough not to cast a vote because I know the answer would be...

...wait for it...

...ME!

And the answer is forty-two.

You're welcome.

Well, how would that work though? First, we'd have to decide which IQ test we're talking about or at least come up with some kind of norm or standard to measure different ones against.

Second, and more of an issue, IQ testing has been around less than a century. Humankind has been around more than a century.

Ok the one has done the greatest contribution to the advance of man kind, along the line of da Vinci or Plato...or...you decide, I just want to see what people come up with. :)

The person who invented that whole "size doesn't matter" concept gets my vote.

The exact centre of all of existence
Whoever it was who first realised what coffee beans were for, I'd say. I'm certain that most of the people who have made the big discoveries have been caffeinated at crucial moments. By the transitive property, the person who introduced coffee to the world must own the other geniuses' discoveries.
