So tonight opens the new (full) season of the NHL.

Do we have predictions? Do we have people who still watch/care? What's the opinion of the new rules?

Let's talk hockey. :)

I heard a rumor that Montreal has offered Peyton Manning $100 million (Canadian) to play center for the Habs.

Caps put up a good fight but stumbled in the end as teh 'Hawks beat them 6-4.

Was bored with the banner raising ceremony. (Probably cause it was for the 'Hawks.) Then the common boos from the crowd when the Caps took the ice. Seriously?

I wept a little last night

Well, the Oilers almost won a game with almost having no players who have played an NHL game as a centre. It showed with Hall's flubs, with him trying to play his preferred role as a winger. I was impressed with Acton's play, especially setting up Gadzic's goal. Kudos to Gadzic for pulling a Lemieux (scoring on your first NHL shift.)

Half way through the season and nearing the olympics...

Any Cup predictions yet?
How bout that Winter Classic? Cold enough for ya? :)

Blatant Chicago bias here. They need to figure out how to win shootouts, but otherwise they're firing on all cylinders and forcing everyone else to keep up.

The Olympics worry me. I think the rules are different. That's a worrisome opportunity for injury.

The end of six decades. The end of Hockey Night in Canada. :(

I agree with the worrisome opportunity for injury as well.
